Earn › Old Android phone

Make money with an old Android phone.

That Pixel 4a in your drawer? It's the highest-paying device on our network. Mobile carrier IPs earn the top tier. Plug it into a charger, install our SDK, leave it online. No ads, no surveys, no scams — actual carrier bandwidth, paid in USDC.

tl;dr · 5 minutes setup

Sign up at farmer.proxies.sx, generate an API key, install our Android SDK or host app, plug the phone in, leave it on. Earnings credit per byte routed. Withdraw to your Solana wallet when eligible. Mobile carrier IPs earn the highest tier in the network.

economics

Why old phones earn the highest tier

Real T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, Vodafone, EE, Orange, Telefónica IPs are structurally scarce. Carriers route thousands of real subscribers behind a single CGNAT IP, so anti-bot vendors can't block them without harming real customers. That makes mobile IPs the most valuable to AI-agent customers running data intelligence — and we pay you accordingly.

step by step

5-step setup

01
Charge the phone

Plug into a charger 24/7. Battery shouldn't cycle — keep it on AC. The foreground service uses minimal CPU and the screen can stay off.

02
Sign up at farmer.proxies.sx

Free farmer account. Generate a psx_ API key from Account → API Keys. This is what links the phone's earnings to your wallet.

03
Install the SDK or host app

Two paths: (a) install our open-source host app from the GitHub releases, or (b) integrate the JitPack dependency into your own Android app to monetize your users' bandwidth.

04
Open the app, paste your API key, hit Start

The foreground service starts immediately. You'll see a persistent notification (Android requires this for background services). Phone is now earning.

05
Toggle Listed for Sale (optional)

In the farmer dashboard, mark your device "Listed for Sale" to also serve traffic via the public pool gateway. Auto-verification runs every 10 minutes; quality score >= 50 = auto-approved.

Phones that work

RequirementWhy
Android 9+ (API 28+)Foreground service + WebSocket support · most phones from 2018+
Active SIM cardMobile data plan or hotspot connection — that's the carrier IP
Working data connection4G LTE or 5G; speeds vary by signal but throughput isn't critical
Always-on chargingDon't cycle the battery — old phones with degraded batteries fine, just keep them plugged in
Stable Wi-Fi (optional)If you want to share Wi-Fi as residential tier instead of mobile, plug into Wi-Fi with cellular off — but then mobile carrier IP is gone

Best phones: any Pixel 3a or newer, any Galaxy S series from 2019+, OnePlus 6+, basically any Android phone with a working SIM and a year or two left of OS support.

comparison

Why this beats Honeygain on phones

Honeygain pays a flat rate regardless of IP type — your mobile carrier IP earns the same as a Hetzner VPS. We pay tiered. For an Android phone on a real carrier, we pay significantly more per GB, and we settle in USDC on Solana within 24-48h instead of monthly PayPal. Same bandwidth, more income.

questions

FAQ

Does the phone need a SIM card?
For mobile-tier earnings, yes — you need an active SIM with a data plan or hotspot. The IP must come from a real carrier. If you only have Wi-Fi, you earn at residential tier instead.
Will it drain the battery?
You should keep the phone plugged in 24/7 — the foreground service runs continuously. Battery cycling kills old phones fast. Set it on a shelf with a charger and forget it.
How much will I actually earn?
Depends on traffic demand against your IP. A T-Mobile US phone in an urban area can do well; rural carriers see less demand. Run it for 30 days, then judge. We don't publish flat per-GB rates because they're tiered and customer-driven.
Is this legal?
Yes — same model as Honeygain, PacketStream, Grass, Pawns, EarnApp. Check your mobile carrier's terms for "tethering" / "hotspot" usage; most allow it. We don't route to illegal endpoints; abuse is filtered upstream.
What if my data plan has a cap?
Set a monthly bandwidth cap in the SDK config (maxBandwidthMBPerHour) so it stays under your plan. Or use mobileDataOnly:false and route via Wi-Fi instead.
Can I use Wi-Fi instead of mobile?
Yes, but you'll earn residential tier (mid) instead of mobile tier (highest). Use mobile data for the premium tier.
How do I withdraw USDC?
Once eligible, request a payout in the farmer dashboard. Funds settle in 24-48h to your Solana wallet (Phantom, Solflare, etc.). You can swap to fiat via any Solana DEX or off-ramp service.
Can I run the SDK in my own Android app?
Yes — that's the whole point of open-sourcing it. Add the JitPack dependency, init the SDK with your API key, and your users' bandwidth shares to the network with revenue split to you. See the SDK page.
