Cloud IP range file dataset
One measurement row for each of 20 selected files. Download the source URLs, prefix counts and hashes, together with publisher fields and separately checked ASN holder records. The export contains measurements and references; download address lists from the publishers.
Counting method and limits
Parse JSON string values recursively, or the first field of non-comment text/CSV lines. Validate with Python ipaddress. Count distinct valid prefix strings per IP version, adding /32 or /128 to bare addresses. Retain overlapping ranges and publisher spelling. Hash the downloaded bytes with SHA-256.
- Repeated identical strings within one file count once. Different prefix lengths and different spellings remain separate, even when their address space overlaps.
- The sum of 383,301 prefix strings is a total across files. It is not a deduplicated network union or a count of individual IP addresses.
- A JSON parser can encounter addresses in multiple fields. These measurements describe the whole selected file; they do not select firewall rules for you.
- Facet values come only from the selected keys supplied to the parser. An empty field means nothing was recorded by this method, not that the publisher offers no other data.
- The 65 ASN reference rows contain 60 distinct ASN numbers. RIPEstat confirms holder labels; it does not establish that every prefix in a provider file is announced by a listed ASN.
- Hashes identify file bytes, not historical authenticity. A later download may differ. Use each row’s fetch time and the publisher’s current documentation when applying the data.
