Private modems
Private Modems: Rent a Whole 4G/5G Modem
A Private modem is one whole 4G/5G carrier modem rented to you alone. Choose the country, carrier and period, pay from your balance, and connect with your own credentials. Traffic is unlimited for the rental.
Rent one carrier modem for yourself by the day, week or month. While it is yours, nobody else uses it, and traffic is unlimited for the whole rental. You pay from your Proxies.sx balance and connect with your own HTTP or SOCKS5 host:port.

01
What you rent
A Private modem is a single 4G/5G modem with a SIM on a named carrier, rented to one customer at a time. For the length of the rental nobody else routes traffic through it, so the radio capacity and the rotation schedule are yours.
It is a separate product from the per-GB pool. The pool gives you one credential across many shared devices and bills each GB you use. A Private modem is priced per day, week or month with unlimited traffic for the rental, so GB volume discounts and GB coupons do not apply to it.
A legacy dedicated port is a host:port on one carrier modem, billed per GB from the same balance, and is offered when your account shows one available. For an exclusive device, unlimited traffic, OpenVPN or an OS fingerprint, start with a Private modem.
02
Choose, pay and connect
Sign in at client.proxies.sx/private-modems, pick a country, carrier and period, and pay from your account balance. If the balance is short, top it up by card or crypto first. The plans on this page come from the same public price list as the dashboard.
When the order settles, My modems (client.proxies.sx/private-modems/mine) shows the modem’s own HTTP and SOCKS5 host, port, username and password. Use them in any client that accepts an authenticated proxy.
03
Rotate the IP or set an interval
Ask for a new IP from the panel, or call the modem’s private rotation link from a script. The link works without a sign-in, so keep it private; issuing a new link stops the old one. You can also set an auto-rotation interval of one minute or longer.
The carrier assigns the new address. A rotation is not a promise of an address you have never used, and carriers can change the public IP on their own schedule too. For login-sensitive work, check IP continuity on your actual destination.
04
OpenVPN and OS fingerprint (p0f)
Supported lines offer an OpenVPN profile (.ovpn) in the dashboard, for tools that expect a VPN tunnel rather than a proxy.
Some lines let you set the operating-system fingerprint (p0f) the modem presents, chosen from the values that line accepts, with one change every five minutes. Carriers with this option are tagged p0f in the plans on this page.
05
Replace and renew
If a line stops working, use Replace in the dashboard to move to another modem in the same country. Your paid time carries over, and the new modem comes with new credentials.
Renew from your balance for a day, a week or a month before the rental ends. Auto-renew is off unless you turn it on.
06
For AI agents and scripts
To buy or renew, an agent needs an API key with the modems:purchase scope. Over MCP, hosted at api.proxies.sx/mcp or installed from the npm package @proxies-sx/mcp-server 3.2.0, it calls proxies_modem_catalog, then proxies_modem_quote, then proxies_modem_buy with the agreed price as expectedPriceUsd and confirm: true. proxies_modem_renew, proxies_modem_rotate and proxies_modem_mine manage the rental afterwards.
Over REST, read GET /v1/private-modems/catalog with any API key, then send POST /v1/private-modems/orders with {tariffId, expectedPriceUsd} and an Idempotency-Key header. If the price has changed, the order is refused instead of charging a different amount. Private modems are paid from the balance, not through x402.
Common buying questions
Can I rent a whole modem with unlimited traffic?
Yes. A Private modem is one whole 4G/5G carrier modem rented to you alone by the day, week or month, with unlimited traffic for the rental. Prices depend on the country, carrier and period, and you pay from your balance. The per-GB pool stays the simplest choice when you want many exits and pay only for the traffic you use.
How is a Private modem priced?
Per modem per period, not per GB. The price depends on the country, carrier and period. As of 30 October 2026, plans started at $8 a day, $25 a week and $107 a month; the plans on this page, your dashboard and api.proxies.sx/v1/pricing show current prices. Rentals are paid from your account balance. GB volume discounts and GB coupons do not apply.
Which countries and carriers are on sale?
As of 30 October 2026: United States (T-Mobile, T-Mobile 5G, Verizon, Verizon 5G), United Kingdom (Three), Germany (O2, Vodafone, 1&1), France (Free), Netherlands (Odido, Vodafone), Poland (Play), Georgia (Geocell), Brazil (Vivo), Singapore (M1, Singtel) and New Zealand (One NZ). The list changes; the plans on this page and your dashboard show what is on sale now.
Can I change the IP?
Yes. Rotate from the panel, call your private rotation link, or set an auto-rotation interval. The carrier assigns the new address, so a rotation is not a promise of an address you have never used. Keep the rotation link private.
What happens if the modem stops working, or the rental ends?
Use Replace in the dashboard to move to another line; your paid time carries over. Auto-renew is off unless you turn it on, and you can renew a rental from your balance before it ends.
How is this different from the per-GB pool and dedicated ports?
The pool gives you one credential across many shared devices, and you pay per GB. A dedicated port is a host:port on one carrier modem, billed per GB from the same balance, when your account shows one available. A Private modem is the whole modem for you alone, with unlimited traffic, priced per day, week or month. For an exclusive device, unlimited traffic, OpenVPN or an OS fingerprint, start with a Private modem.
