Holder names and prefix counts come from the RIPE NCC's RIPEstat Data API, fetched on 2026-09-06. Role and confidence come from the evidence linked in each row; "confirmed" means a PeeringDB or RIPEstat record, or the operator's own site, names the operator.

Mobile network codes

The MCC identifies the country and the MNC identifies the operator inside it. Together they appear in the IMSI of every SIM on the network and in device diagnostics; they are how a handset knows which network it is on.

About Mobilis

The registry records two ASNs for Mobilis, both registered to Telecom Algeria. AS327712 is documented as the mobile network and was announced at the last probe with 131 IPv4 prefixes against a single IPv6 prefix, so IPv6 deployment on the mobile side is thin. AS36947 is the parent Algérie Télécom fixed network, announced with 545 IPv4 prefixes and 89 IPv6 prefixes, and PeeringDB names it Algeria Telecom and classes it as an NSP. For AS327712 the registry holds the name Telecom Algeria and no network type.

An address whose origin ASN is AS327712 is routed by the Mobilis mobile network. An address originating in AS36947 is routed by the same group but on the fixed side, where the registry records residential and fixed-wireless prefixes rather than the mobile network, so the two ASNs should not be treated as interchangeable when classifying traffic. Checking which of the two an Algerian address falls in tells you which side of Algérie Télécom carries it, and the shared holder name alone does not settle that.

faq

Research note. AS327712 is registered to Telecom Algeria (RIPEstat holder 'Telecom Algeria', AS name 'ATM'); bgp.tools prefix descriptions name 'Algerie Telecom Mobile MOBILIS', so it is the Mobilis mobile ASN. PeeringDB has no record for AS327712 (empty result). AS36947 is the parent Algérie Télécom fixed/eyeball network (prefixes 'Residentiel', 'FAWRI', 'FTTX', 'PPPOE', also '4G LTE' fixed wireless) - listed as fixed, not the Mobilis mobile network. MNC 603-07 and 603-09 belong to Algérie Télécom fixed wireless (CDMA WLL / LTE FWA), not Mobilis, and were left out. 4G launched 1 Oct 2016 (Wikipedia); 5G licence granted Nov/Dec 2025 (Xinhua, 4 Dec 2025); the operator site exposes a 5G coverage map at mobilis.dz/map/5g and a 'Navigui 4G' pack. Candidate ASNs 3208 (Algerian Academic Research Network) and 21391 (TDA broadcasting) rejected as unrelated.

Checking whether an IP belongs to Mobilis

Look up the origin ASN of the address and compare it with the table above. RIPEstat answers for any address, and the RADB whois mirror lists the routes registered under an ASN.

Questions

What is Mobilis's ASN?

AS327712 carries the Mobilis mobile network. It is registered to Telecom Algeria and its prefix descriptions name Algérie Télécom Mobile Mobilis. The registry also records AS36947 for the same group, but that one is the fixed network of the parent rather than the Mobilis mobile network.

What is the MCC/MNC of Mobilis?

Mobilis uses MCC 603 with MNC 01, written 603-01, the only row the registry holds for the brand. Codes 603-07 and 603-09 belong to Algérie Télécom fixed wireless and sit with the parent rather than the Mobilis mobile network.

Is an IP from AS36947 a mobile IP?

AS36947 is documented as the fixed network of Algérie Télécom, not the Mobilis mobile network, so an address originating there is more likely residential or fixed wireless. For Mobilis mobile addressing the registry points to AS327712 instead.
