Holder names and prefix counts come from the RIPE NCC's RIPEstat Data API, fetched on 2026-09-06. Role and confidence come from the evidence linked in each row; "confirmed" means a PeeringDB or RIPEstat record, or the operator's own site, names the operator.

Mobile network codes
The MCC identifies the country and the MNC identifies the operator inside it. Together they appear in the IMSI of every SIM on the network and in device diagnostics; they are how a handset knows which network it is on.
About m:tel
The registry records two ASNs for m:tel. AS25144, held by Telekomunikacije Republike Srpske a.d. Banja Luka under the name TELEKOM-SRPSKE-AS, carries the mobile network and was announced at the last probe with 41 IPv4 prefixes against a single IPv6 prefix. The second, AS203744 under the name TRION-TEL-AS, belongs to the same legal entity but has an enterprise role, announced no prefixes, and its PeeringDB record names Trion Tel, an acquired network typed NSP. Neither ASN has a PeeringDB entry under the m:tel or Telekom Srpske name. Recorded radio generations reach 4G LTE.
An address whose origin ASN is AS25144 is routed by m:tel, and that is the ASN to match when you want the operator's mobile network. AS203744 announced nothing at the last probe, so no live address should trace back to it, and its enterprise role points at business or wholesale connectivity rather than consumer mobile service. The registry's picture of m:tel is almost entirely IPv4, with one IPv6 prefix on the mobile ASN, so an IPv6 address is unlikely to resolve to this operator.
Research note. The primary ASN AS25144 (TELEKOM-SRPSKE-AS) was not in the asn.txt candidate list but is the main announced network of Telekomunikacije Republike Srpske a.d. (RIPEstat holder confirmed); no PeeringDB record (404). The only candidate, AS203744 (TRION-TEL-AS), is held by the same legal entity but is NOT announced per RIPEstat and its PeeringDB record is for Trion Tel (triontel.net, type NSP), an acquired ISP - not the consumer mobile network. Ownership: Telekom Srbija 65% per mtel.ba investor page; remaining 35% held by Republika Srpska funds and minor shareholders. Coverage map on mtel.ba lists 2G/3G/4G; 5G only presented with Huawei as technology demo, no commercial 5G confirmed.
Checking whether an IP belongs to m:tel
Look up the origin ASN of the address and compare it with the table above. RIPEstat answers for any address, and the RADB whois mirror lists the routes registered under an ASN.
curl -s "https://stat.ripe.net/data/prefix-overview/data.json?resource=203.0.113.9" | jq '.data.asns'whois -h whois.radb.net -- '-i origin AS25144' | grep ^routeQuestions
What is m:tel's ASN?
The registry records AS25144, held by Telekomunikacije Republike Srpske a.d. Banja Luka, as the ASN carrying m:tel's mobile network. A second ASN, AS203744, is registered to the same company with an enterprise role and announced no prefixes at the last probe.
What is the MCC/MNC of m:tel?
m:tel uses MCC 218, the country code for Bosnia and Herzegovina, with MNC 05, written together as 218-05. The registry holds one MCC/MNC row for this operator and records no other codes under the m:tel name.
Is an IP from AS203744 an m:tel mobile IP?
The registry gives AS203744 an enterprise role, not a mobile one, and the probe found it announcing no prefixes at all. Its PeeringDB record belongs to Trion Tel, an acquired network typed NSP, so it is not the consumer mobile network.
