Holder names and prefix counts come from the RIPE NCC's RIPEstat Data API, fetched on 2026-09-06. Role and confidence come from the evidence linked in each row; "confirmed" means a PeeringDB or RIPEstat record, or the operator's own site, names the operator.

Mobile network codes
The MCC identifies the country and the MNC identifies the operator inside it. Together they appear in the IMSI of every SIM on the network and in device diagnostics; they are how a handset knows which network it is on.
About SFR
Six autonomous systems are registered to Societe Francaise du Radiotelephone. AS15557, LDCOMNET, is the consumer network and the one documented as carrying mobile; at the last probe it announced 146 IPv4 prefixes against 12 IPv6 prefixes, and PeeringDB names it SFR Group with the type Cable/DSL/ISP. AS12566 is the business network, with 27 IPv4 prefixes and no IPv6, recorded in PeeringDB as SFR Business Team and typed NSP. AS21502, named for the Numericable cable network and recorded as fixed, announced 2 IPv4 prefixes. AS8228, AS9003 and AS29372 announced nothing.
An address whose origin ASN is 15557 is routed by SFR's consumer network, the one the registry documents as carrying mobile, but fixed broadband shares that address space and no source splits the two apart, so the origin ASN by itself does not make an address mobile. An address in AS12566 points to a business service and one in AS21502 to the Numericable fixed network. The three autonomous systems that announce no prefixes route no traffic, so no live address originates in them.
Research note. AS15557 (LDCOMNET) is registered in PeeringDB as 'SFR Group', aka AS-LDCOMNET, website alticefrance.com, type Cable/DSL/ISP, and is announced per RIPEstat; it is SFR's consumer AS (fixed and mobile share it; no source splits mobile out). AS21502 (ASN-NUMERICABLE) is announced and named for the Numericable cable network, so listed as fixed. AS12566 (SFR-BUSINESS-TEAM) is announced, B2B. AS9003, AS8228 and AS29372 are held by SFR SA but RIPEstat reports them as not announced; AS21502 has no PeeringDB record. Regional DSP/public-initiative candidates (3305, 15890, 34860, 35632, 43763, 47206, 49112, 208157) were not verified and are omitted. Parent: Wikipedia infobox gives Altice France S.A.; alticefrance.com/activites/telecoms/ lists SFR, RED by SFR and SFR Business as its brands and states '1er opérateur à avoir lancé la 3G, la 4G, la 5G en France' and '87% de la population couverte en 5G'. MNC notes from the Wikipedia table: 208-09/10/13 operator column reads 'Altice' (208-13 Zones Blanches, 208-10 also used in Monaco); 208-11 is UMTS 2100 femtocells; 208-08 is an operational MVNO code, former Completel (an SFR/Altice business brand) - keep or drop per policy on MVNO codes. Input row 208-10 was duplicated and deduplicated. www.sfr.fr itself could not be fetched (blocked), so the website URL comes from the Wikipedia infobox and Altice France's site linking to it.
Checking whether an IP belongs to SFR
Look up the origin ASN of the address and compare it with the table above. RIPEstat answers for any address, and the RADB whois mirror lists the routes registered under an ASN.
curl -s "https://stat.ripe.net/data/prefix-overview/data.json?resource=203.0.113.9" | jq '.data.asns'whois -h whois.radb.net -- '-i origin AS15557' | grep ^routeQuestions
What is SFR's ASN?
The registry records six held by Societe Francaise du Radiotelephone: AS15557, the LDCOMNET consumer network documented as carrying mobile; AS12566 for business; AS21502 for the Numericable fixed network; and AS8228, AS9003 and AS29372, which announced no prefixes at the last probe.
What is the MCC/MNC of SFR?
The registry records five rows, all under MCC 208, the country code for France: MNC 08, 09, 10, 11 and 13. MNC 13 is the Zones Blanches code, MNC 11 covers UMTS 2100 femtocells, and MNC 10 is also used in Monaco.
Is an IP from AS15557 a mobile IP?
It can be. AS15557 is SFR's consumer autonomous system and the one recorded as carrying mobile, but PeeringDB types it Cable/DSL/ISP and fixed subscribers sit in the same address space. The origin ASN identifies the operator rather than the access technology.
