Cosmote ASN, MCC/MNC and IP prefixes

Cosmote is a mobile operator in Greece and a division of OTE Group (Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation), of which Deutsche Telekom owns 66.54%. Its mobile network is carried by AS29247, registered to COSMOTE-GR Ote SA and recorded in PeeringDB as Cosmote Mobile Telecommunications S.A. The registry lists MCC/MNC codes 202-01 and 202-02.

The registry records one ASN for Cosmote, AS29247, held by COSMOTE-GR Ote SA and documented as carrying the mobile network. At the last probe it announced 13 IPv4 prefixes and 4 IPv6 prefixes. PeeringDB has a record for the ASN under the name Cosmote Mobile Telecommunications S.A., though it sets no network type, so the registry has no PeeringDB category to report for it. No other ASN is recorded against the operator.

An address whose origin ASN is AS29247 is routed by Cosmote, and because the registry documents that ASN as the mobile one, such an address belongs to the operator's mobile network rather than a separate fixed-line network. Cosmote runs 4G LTE and 5G, but the origin ASN identifies the operator and not the access technology behind an individual address, so it does not tell you which generation a given connection used. Website per Wikipedia (cosmote.gr); www.cosmote.gr and www.ote.gr were unreachable (DNS) from this session, so generations (LTE 800/1800/2600, 5G 700/1800/2100/3500; UMTS shut Dec 2021) come from the Wikipedia MNC table, not the operator site. MNC 202-03 'OTE' (status unknown) exists but was not a candidate; not included.
