Telenor ASN, MCC/MNC and IP prefixes

Telenor is a mobile operator in Denmark and part of Telenor Group. The registry records AS9158, held by Telenor A/S, as the ASN carrying its mobile network, with a second ASN, AS6785, registered to the same company under the former Cybercity name. Telenor Denmark uses MCC 238 with MNC 02.

Two ASNs are recorded for Telenor in Denmark. AS9158 is the confirmed mobile-role network and the only one announcing prefixes: at the last probe it carried 26 IPv4 prefixes against 2 IPv6 prefixes, and PeeringDB names it Telenor Denmark with the network type Network Services. AS6785 is registered to Telenor A/S under the Cybercity name, a former fixed-broadband business, and the registry marks its role as fixed on a name match alone. It announced nothing at the last probe and has no PeeringDB record.

An address whose origin ASN is 9158 is routed by Telenor Denmark, and the registry records 4G LTE and 5G as the generations the operator runs. The radio network is shared with Telia through TT-Netvaerket P/S, which holds its own code 238-66 and is a separate entity, so shared radio access does not mean shared IP address space; each operator's traffic still leaves through its own ASN. AS6785 announces no prefixes, so it will not appear as the origin of live traffic.

Research note. 238-02 is Telenor Denmark's operational network (former Sonofon). 238-77 (former Tele2) is listed as not operational / MNC withdrawn, so it was dropped. The radio network is shared with Telia/Norlys via TT-Netvaerket P/S (MNC 238-66), which is a separate entity. AS9158 (PeeringDB 'Telenor Denmark', website telenor.dk, announced) is the only announced Telenor DK ASN; AS6785 (Cybercity, a former fixed-broadband ISP) is registered to Telenor A/S but unannounced and not in PeeringDB. telenor.dk/om-telenor states 'Telenor Danmark er en del af en global familie'.
