Holder names and prefix counts come from the RIPE NCC's RIPEstat Data API, fetched on 2026-09-06. Role and confidence come from the evidence linked in each row; "confirmed" means a PeeringDB or RIPEstat record, or the operator's own site, names the operator.

Mobile network codes

The MCC identifies the country and the MNC identifies the operator inside it. Together they appear in the IMSI of every SIM on the network and in device diagnostics; they are how a handset knows which network it is on.

About DNA

The registry holds five ASNs registered to DNA Oyj. AS16086 carries the mobile network and announced 78 IPv4 prefixes against 7 IPv6 prefixes at the last probe. AS8236 announced 3 IPv4 prefixes and no IPv6, and AS20542, the legacy HTV cable and broadband network, announced one IPv4 prefix and is recorded as fixed. AS6793 and AS49422 are registered to DNA Oyj but announce nothing. PeeringDB lists AS16086 under the DNA name as a network service provider and has no record for AS8236 or AS20542.

An address whose origin ASN is AS16086 is routed by DNA's mobile network, so a traffic classifier can treat it as DNA subscriber space. AS20542 is fixed-line, so addresses originating there belong to broadband rather than mobile customers. AS8236 has no documented role, and an address routed by it could be mobile, fixed or enterprise; the ASN alone does not settle which. AS6793 and AS49422 announce no prefixes, so no live address should trace back to either.

Research note. AS16086 is the primary announced network (PeeringDB 'DNA', NSP, website corporate.dna.fi; RIPEstat announced=true) and is the ASN for the consumer/mobile network. AS8236 DNA-CE and AS20542 HTV are also announced and registered to DNA Oyj in RIPEstat; PeeringDB has no record for either (8236 lookups were throttled/empty). HTV is the legacy Helsinki cable/broadband (Welho) network, so marked fixed. AS6793 TELIVO and AS49422 FORTENET are unannounced legacy ASNs held by DNA Oyj. ITU E.212 (2018) assigns 244-03, 244-04, 244-12, 244-13 to DNA Oy; the duplicate 244-12 candidate row was collapsed. corporate.dna.fi states 'DNA:n omistaja on norjalainen Telenor Group' (Telenor acquired DNA in 2019). dna.fi/5g states 5G complements 4G and DNA continues building 4G base stations.

Checking whether an IP belongs to DNA

Look up the origin ASN of the address and compare it with the table above. RIPEstat answers for any address, and the RADB whois mirror lists the routes registered under an ASN.

Questions

What is DNA's ASN?

DNA's mobile network is AS16086, registered to DNA Oyj. The registry also records AS8236 and AS20542 as announced networks under the same company, plus two unannounced ASNs, AS6793 and AS49422. AS20542 is the fixed-line HTV network rather than mobile.

What is the MCC/MNC of DNA?

ITU records four MCC/MNC pairs for DNA in Finland, 244-03, 244-04, 244-12 and 244-13. Mobile country code 244 is Finland's, and those four mobile network codes identify DNA's networks in SIM and signalling records.

Is an IP from AS16086 a mobile IP?

AS16086 is DNA's mobile network in the registry, so an address originating there is routed by DNA. The same ASN can also carry other DNA services, so the origin ASN shows the operator rather than proving the connection type of a single address.
