Paraná · network infrastructure
Paraná records 27 facilities across seven cities and 112 network presences. Curitiba holds most of the capacity, with BR.Digital CTA1 at 24 networks and Cirion CUR1 at 21. The state's peering is heavier than its colocation footprint, since IX.br (PTT.br) Curitiba counts 178 participants.
Internet exchanges in Paraná
Exchanges are attributed to the state through the city they sit in, because PeeringDB records a state for facilities but not for exchanges.

What a Paraná IP address tells you
Curitiba holds the densest buildings in the state. BR.Digital Curitiba records 24 networks, Cirion Curitiba - CUR1 has 21, and PIX DBUG 14, with Elea CTA1 at eight. Six more cities hold what is left. Universidade Estadual de Maringá records six networks, Fundacao Parque Tecnologico Itaipu and BR.Digital Foz do Iguaçu four each, and Londrina, Ponta Grossa and Cascavel carry two or three apiece. IX.br (PTT.br) Curitiba is where the state's traffic actually meets, with 178 participants against 112 network presences in the facilities.
An address that geolocates to Paraná reflects the registration its operator published, not the location of the device using it. Brazil's mobile networks aggregate subscribers behind regional gateways, so a handset in Londrina or Cascavel can present an address recorded in Curitiba, or in another state altogether. Claro carries mobile subscribers on AS22085, TIM on AS26615, and Vivo on AS26599 and AS27699, and none of those announcements respect state boundaries.
The origin ASN on the prefix is a better question than the state label. Many of the 178 networks peering at IX.br Curitiba are regional providers whose address blocks are registered where the company is, which need not be the city the traffic passes through. Reading the netname on the specific prefix tells you which organisation holds it, and that is what a geolocation database was working from in the first place.
Mobile carriers in Brazil
A mobile address anywhere in Paraná is routed by one of the country's operators. Each entry lists the operator's ASNs so you can check which network an address belongs to.
Questions
How many data centres are in Paraná?
PeeringDB lists 27 facilities spread over seven cities, holding 112 network presences. BR.Digital Curitiba is the densest with 24 networks, then Cirion Curitiba - CUR1 with 21 and PIX DBUG with 14. Maringá, Foz do Iguaçu, Londrina, Ponta Grossa and Cascavel account for the smaller entries.
Is there an internet exchange in Paraná?
Yes. IX.br (PTT.br) Curitiba has 178 participants, more networks than the state's facilities record between them. Paraná's traffic can settle locally at that exchange rather than being carried out of the state to reach other networks.
Can I get an IP address in Paraná?
Placement follows the operator's address registration, not a customer's choice of state. A block reads as Paraná because its holder published a location there. Mobile addresses are looser again, since subscribers on Claro, TIM and Vivo sit behind gateways that can be registered in a different state.
