Autonomous systems
Holder names and prefix counts come from the RIPE NCC's RIPEstat Data API, fetched on 2026-09-06. Role and confidence come from the evidence linked in each row; "confirmed" means a PeeringDB or RIPEstat record, or the operator's own site, names the operator.
Mobile network codes
The MCC identifies the country and the MNC identifies the operator inside it. Together they appear in the IMSI of every SIM on the network and in device diagnostics; they are how a handset knows which network it is on.
About Claro
The registry holds a single ASN for Claro Chile, AS27995. It is announced, and at the last probe it originated 11 IPv4 prefixes against 2 IPv6 prefixes, so most of the address space it carries is still IPv4. PeeringDB lists the network as CLARO CHILE but leaves the network type field empty, so the mobile role here reflects AS27995 being the operator's only public ASN rather than a PeeringDB designation.
An address whose origin ASN is AS27995 is routed by Claro Chile. Because the operator announces everything from one ASN, that address could be mobile, fixed or enterprise, and the ASN alone does not settle which. Traffic classification needs a second signal, such as a prefix-level assignment record, before an AS27995 address can be called mobile. The registry documents 4G LTE and 5G service for the operator, without tying either to a prefix range.
Research note. AS27995 PeeringDB name 'CLARO CHILE', website https://www.clarochile.cl, announced; the only Claro Chile ASN found, so role 'mobile' reflects it being the operator's single public ASN rather than a PeeringDB mobile designation (info_type empty). MNC 03 brand 'CLARO CL', operator Claro Chile S.A., Operational; mcc-mnc-lookup.com additionally lists 730-23 (Claro Servicios Empresariales S.A.), 730-24 and 730-33 (CLARO CHILE SpA) which were not in the candidate rows and not confirmed by a second source. Parent per Wikipedia list (ClaroVTR JV); clarochile.cl pages returned 403 from this location, so parent and generations were not verified on the operator site. Checking whether an IP belongs to Claro
Look up the origin ASN of the address and compare it with the table above. RIPEstat answers for any address, and the RADB whois mirror lists the routes registered under an ASN.
curl -s "https://stat.ripe.net/data/prefix-overview/data.json?resource=203.0.113.9" | jq '.data.asns'whois -h whois.radb.net -- '-i origin AS27995' | grep ^routeQuestions
What is Claro Chile's ASN?
AS27995, held by Claro Chile S.A. It is the only ASN the registry records for the operator, it is announced, and PeeringDB carries it under the name CLARO CHILE. No second Claro Chile ASN is confirmed here.
What is the MCC/MNC of Claro Chile?
MCC 730, MNC 03. That is the one pair the registry confirms for Claro in Chile. Some public lists attribute other 730 codes to Claro entities, but no second source confirmed them, so the registry leaves them out.
Is an IP from AS27995 a mobile IP?
Not necessarily. AS27995 is Claro Chile's only public ASN, and PeeringDB records no network type for it, so the same ASN can originate mobile, fixed and enterprise addresses. The ASN tells you the operator, not the access technology behind a given address.
