Holder names and prefix counts come from the RIPE NCC's RIPEstat Data API, fetched on 2026-09-06. Role and confidence come from the evidence linked in each row; "confirmed" means a PeeringDB or RIPEstat record, or the operator's own site, names the operator.

Mobile network codes
The MCC identifies the country and the MNC identifies the operator inside it. Together they appear in the IMSI of every SIM on the network and in device diagnostics; they are how a handset knows which network it is on.
About Movistar
All four Movistar ASNs are announced. AS27680, the mobile one, originated 15 IPv4 prefixes and no IPv6 prefixes at the last probe and has no PeeringDB record at all. AS7418 is the fixed network, with 122 IPv4 prefixes and no IPv6, filed in PeeringDB as Movistar ISP under the Cable/DSL/ISP type. AS15311 carries 54 IPv4 prefixes and appears in PeeringDB as Telefonica Empresas Network with no type set, and the wholesale ASN AS52396 announced a single IPv4 prefix. None of the four announced any IPv6.
An address whose origin ASN is AS27680 is routed by Movistar's mobile company, and that is the one ASN here the registry ties to mobile service. Addresses from AS7418 belong to the fixed broadband network and addresses from AS15311 to the enterprise arm, so neither reads as mobile. AS52396 is recorded as wholesale, which means an address under it can be handed on to another network, and the ASN alone does not settle what sits behind it.
Research note. No ASN candidates were supplied; found via search and confirmed. AS27680 (RIPEstat holder 'TELEFONICA MOVIL DE CHILE S.A.') is the mobile-company ASN; it has no PeeringDB record. AS7418 PeeringDB name 'Movistar ISP', aka 'Movistar Chile', website www.movistar.cl, type Cable/DSL/ISP (fixed). AS15311 PeeringDB 'Telefonica Empresas Network' aka 'Movistar Empresas' (enterprise). AS52396 wholesale ('Mayoristas'). Ownership changed Feb 2026: Telefónica sold Movistar Chile to NJJ Holding and Millicom; en.wikipedia list gives NJJ 51% / Millicom 49%, es.wikipedia Tigo (Chile) gives 50/50 and lists www.tigo.cl; brand migration from Movistar to Tigo is in progress, movistar.cl still the live site (tigo.cl did not resolve to a Chilean site when fetched). MNC 02 Live, TADIG CHLTM; MNC 07 Live on mcc-mnc.org but 'Unknown' status on mcc-mnc.dev. Operator web pages (movistar.cl, ww2.movistar.cl, atencionalcliente.movistar.cl) returned 403 from this location, so generations sourced from Subtel-hosted documents only.
Checking whether an IP belongs to Movistar
Look up the origin ASN of the address and compare it with the table above. RIPEstat answers for any address, and the RADB whois mirror lists the routes registered under an ASN.
curl -s "https://stat.ripe.net/data/prefix-overview/data.json?resource=203.0.113.9" | jq '.data.asns'whois -h whois.radb.net -- '-i origin AS27680' | grep ^routeQuestions
What is Movistar Chile's ASN?
AS27680 is the mobile ASN, registered to Telefonica Movil de Chile S.A. The registry also records AS7418 for fixed broadband, AS15311 for enterprise service and AS52396 for wholesale. All four are announced.
What is the MCC/MNC of Movistar Chile?
MCC 730 with MNC 02 and MNC 07. MNC 02 is listed as live across the sources the registry uses. MNC 07 is live on one source and carries an unknown status on another, so treat 730-07 as recorded but less firmly attested.
Is an IP from AS7418 a mobile IP?
No. AS7418 is Movistar's fixed network, named Movistar ISP in PeeringDB and typed Cable/DSL/ISP. Mobile addresses are documented under AS27680 instead, which has no PeeringDB record and so cannot be checked that way.
