About AIS
AIS is a mobile network operator in Thailand controlled by Intouch Holdings. The registry records seven ASNs, of which AS45458 and AS131445 are documented as carrying the mobile network through the subsidiary Advanced Wireless Network. Its MCC/MNC codes are 520-01 and 520-03. Fixed-line address space sits under separate ASNs, including AS133481 for AIS Fibre.
The registry lists seven ASNs for AIS. AS45458 and AS131445 are recorded as mobile, both tied to Advanced Wireless Network, the group company that holds the mobile licence. AS45458 announces 699 IPv4 prefixes against 33 IPv6 prefixes at the last probe, and AS131445 announces 270 IPv4 prefixes against 187 IPv6. PeeringDB names AS45458 "Advanced Wireless Network Co. Ltd.(Enterprise/NIX)" and types it Cable/DSL/ISP, and lists the international gateway ASN AS45430 as "Advanced Wireless Network Co. Ltd.(IIG)" with the same type. AS133481 (AIS Fibre) and AS45758 (Triple T Broadband) are recorded as fixed.
An address whose origin ASN is AS45458 or AS131445 is routed by the AIS mobile network, so a mobile reading is supported by the registry, though the PeeringDB type on AS45458 is a general ISP one rather than mobile-only. AS45430, AS134162 and AS136538 carry no documented role, and an address originating from one of them could be mobile, fixed or enterprise; the ASN alone does not settle it. AS45758 and AS133481 are recorded as fixed broadband, so an address from either points to a fixed line rather than a handset.
Research note. Mobile licence holder is subsidiary Advanced Wireless Network Co. Ltd. (AWN): MNC 520-03 is registered to AWN (UMTS 2100 / LTE 700/900/1800/2100 / 5G 700/2500), 520-01 to Advanced Info Service (GSM 900). 520-23 (Digital Phone Co., GSM 1800) is owned by AIS but shut down Oct 2019 and is dropped. AS131445 name AIS3G-2100 names the mobile network; ipinfo classifies it consumer ISP, domain ais.co.th. AS45458 is AWN-ISP: PeeringDB record 'Advanced Wireless Network Co. Ltd.(Enterprise/NIX)' website ais.co.th; ipinfo classifies it consumer/eyeball, ~213k IPv4, domain ais.co.th; role mobile is inferred from AWN being the mobile licence holder and the eyeball profile, not from a page saying 'mobile'. AS133481 PeeringDB 'Advanced Wireless Network Co. Ltd.(Broadband)' = AIS Fibre. AS45758 Triple T Broadband (3BB) is listed in PeeringDB as 'TripleT Broadband(AIS|3BB)', fixed broadband. AS45430 is the AWN international gateway/transit ASN; AS136538 is the public Wi-Fi hotspot service; AS134162 role not stated by any source. PeeringDB API rate-limited (HTTP 429) on per-ASN lookups, so per-ASN PeeringDB records for 136538/45430/134162/131445 were not retrieved; the name__contains search results and RIPEstat were used instead. Parent: Wikipedia states AIS is controlled by Intouch Holdings (Temasek); Singtel holds a significant stake. Generations: ais.th calls itself 'Thailand's First and Genuine 5G Leader' and sells 4G/5G products; Wikipedia lists 4G LTE 900/1800/2100 and 5G NR 700/2600/26 GHz.

curl -s "https://stat.ripe.net/data/prefix-overview/data.json?resource=203.0.113.9" | jq '.data.asns'whois -h whois.radb.net -- '-i origin AS45458' | grep ^routeQuestions
- What is AIS's ASN?
- The registry records seven ASNs for AIS. AS45458 and AS131445 are the ones documented as carrying the mobile network, both under Advanced Wireless Network. AS45430 is the international gateway ASN, and AS45758 and AS133481 are recorded as fixed broadband.
- What is the MCC/MNC of AIS?
- The registry records two rows, MCC 520 with MNC 01 and MCC 520 with MNC 03, written 520-01 and 520-03. The 520-03 code is registered to Advanced Wireless Network, the subsidiary holding the mobile licence, and 520-01 to Advanced Info Service.
- Is an IP from AS45458 a mobile IP?
- The registry records AS45458 as mobile and ties it to Advanced Wireless Network. Its PeeringDB record is typed Cable/DSL/ISP rather than mobile, so the ASN is not handset-only, and an individual address in that space can belong to another service running on the same network.

ASN and prefix data describe how the operator's networks are registered and announced. They do not identify an individual subscriber or where a device is, since carriers route traffic from many areas through shared gateways.
