Holder names and prefix counts come from the RIPE NCC's RIPEstat Data API, fetched on 2026-09-06. Role and confidence come from the evidence linked in each row; "confirmed" means a PeeringDB or RIPEstat record, or the operator's own site, names the operator.

Mobile network codes

The MCC identifies the country and the MNC identifies the operator inside it. Together they appear in the IMSI of every SIM on the network and in device diagnostics; they are how a handset knows which network it is on.

About T-Mobile

The registry records nine ASNs for T-Mobile, five of them with a mobile role. AS21928 announced 283 IPv4 prefixes against 257 IPv6 prefixes at the last probe, and PeeringDB names it T-Mobile USA under the Cable/DSL/ISP type. AS6614 announced 53 IPv4 prefixes and no IPv6, and PeeringDB names it U.S. Cellular; it sits with T-Mobile USA after the UScellular acquisition. AS13644, AS16586 and AS32997 announced nothing. AS17133 is the fibre network and AS18933 is enterprise, while AS10728 and AS22140 have no documented role.

An address whose origin ASN is one of these nine is routed by T-Mobile. AS21928 is the consumer mobile network, so an address originating there is a mobile address, and AS6614 carries the UScellular network. AS13644, AS16586 and AS32997 hold a mobile role in the registry but announced no prefixes at the last probe, so live traffic should not be expected from them. AS10728 and AS22140 have no documented role, so an address from either could be mobile, fixed or enterprise and the ASN alone does not settle it.

Research note. The candidate list was empty, so the ASNs were looked up from scratch via ARIN's org listing for T-Mobile USA's org handle TMOBI (15 ASNs) and each was checked against RIPEstat and PeeringDB. AS21928 is the consumer mobile network - PeeringDB record name 'T-Mobile USA', aka '#uncarrier', website http://www.t-mobile.com, IRR AS-21928, 540 announced prefixes on 2026-09-06. AS6614 (USCC-ASN, UScellular, 53 prefixes) and AS18933 (USCC-MPLS01) are now registered to T-Mobile USA, Inc. following the UScellular acquisition. AS17133 (T-FIBER) is the fibre/fixed network. AS13644 and AS32997 (TMO-METRO, Metro by T-Mobile), AS16586 (CLEARWIRE, legacy Sprint/Clearwire) and AS10728 are registered to T-Mobile USA but are NOT currently announced in BGP. AS22140 is announced but only carries two small prefixes (206.29.176.0/22 and 2607:fb90:c13e::/48, inside T-Mobile's 2607:fb90::/28 TMOV6-1 block), so its role is left unknown rather than guessed. Explicitly REJECTED: AS1239 (SPRINTLINK), formerly Sprint's backbone, is now held by Cogent Communications - it must not be attributed to T-Mobile; AS10507 (SPCS) is still registered to 'Sprint Personal Communications Systems' rather than to the TMOBI org and is not announced, so it is omitted. T-Mobile also holds AS5079, AS11461, AS23044, AS25877 and AS393494, whose roles were not established. MCC/MNC: only rows the table marks Operational are listed; 310/260 is the main network (LTE 600/700/1900/1700/2500 and 5G 600) and 311/660 is Metro by T-Mobile. Many legacy T-Mobile codes are marked Not operational and were dropped (310/120, 310/160, 310/200-310/310, 310/490, 310/660, 310/800, 311/260, 311/490, 311/940, 312/250). The UScellular codes 311/580, 311/588 and 311/589 are listed as Operational with T-Mobile US as operator but are UScellular-branded, and 310/053 (Virgin Mobile, ex-Sprint) is an MVNO brand code - these were left out of the list above. Deutsche Telekom states it holds a 52.8 percent stake in T-Mobile US (as of 18 February 2026).

Checking whether an IP belongs to T-Mobile

Look up the origin ASN of the address and compare it with the table above. RIPEstat answers for any address, and the RADB whois mirror lists the routes registered under an ASN.

Questions

What is T-Mobile's ASN?

AS21928 is the consumer mobile network, with PeeringDB recording it as T-Mobile USA. The registry lists eight more ASNs under T-Mobile USA, including AS6614 for UScellular, AS17133 for fibre and AS18933 for enterprise, plus AS13644, AS16586 and AS32997, which announced nothing at the last probe.

What is the MCC/MNC of T-Mobile?

The registry lists 310/260, 310/830, 311/660, 311/882, 312/190 and 312/530. The main network runs on 310/260 and Metro by T-Mobile runs on 311/660. Legacy codes the source table marks as not operational are left out of the registry.

Is an IP from AS22140 a mobile IP?

The registry does not document a role for AS22140, so the ASN alone does not settle it and the address could be mobile, fixed or enterprise. It announced one IPv4 prefix and one IPv6 prefix at the last probe. T-Mobile's documented mobile network is AS21928.
