Holder names and prefix counts come from the RIPE NCC's RIPEstat Data API, fetched on 2026-09-06. Role and confidence come from the evidence linked in each row; "confirmed" means a PeeringDB or RIPEstat record, or the operator's own site, names the operator.

Mobile network codes
The MCC identifies the country and the MNC identifies the operator inside it. Together they appear in the IMSI of every SIM on the network and in device diagnostics; they are how a handset knows which network it is on.
About Claro
The registry holds four ASNs for Claro Colombia, all of them announced. AS26611, held by Comunicación Celular S.A. Comcel S.A., is the one with a documented mobile role, and at the last probe it announced 254 IPv4 prefixes against 1,195 IPv6 prefixes. The three Telmex Colombia numbers cover the fixed side, with AS10620 announcing 3,445 IPv4 and 152 IPv6 prefixes at the last probe, AS14080 announcing 879 IPv4 and 178 IPv6, and AS27864 announcing a single IPv4 prefix and no IPv6 at all. The registry stores no PeeringDB name or network type for any of the four.
An address whose origin ASN is AS26611 is routed by Claro's mobile network, since that is the only number here the registry marks as mobile. An address originating from AS10620, AS14080 or AS27864 is routed by the Telmex Colombia fixed side of the same group, so it is not evidence of a mobile connection. The origin ASN identifies which operator network routes the address, not the access technology an individual subscriber sits on, and the mobile-versus-fixed split here comes from the registry's role field rather than from anything visible in the routing data itself.
Research note. Legal name Comunicación Celular S.A. Comcel S.A. (es.wikipedia); AS26611 whois owner matches. Claro Colombia formed 2012 from merger of Comcel (mobile) and Telmex Colombia (fixed), both América Móvil (en.wikipedia) - Telmex ASNs 10620/14080/27864 are the fixed side; AS26603 (Telmex Colombia) exists but is not announced. Candidate 732-666 dropped: Wikipedia lists it as not operational / MNC withdrawn. 732-100 (Comcel, status unknown) not in candidates, not added. PeeringDB has no record for AS26611 (404). www.claro.com.co did not resolve from this environment; website taken from Wikipedia infobox and search results. 4G LTE commercial since 2013 and 5G commercial rollout 2024 per es.wikipedia; 5G activation 2024-02-23 per Forbes.
Checking whether an IP belongs to Claro
Look up the origin ASN of the address and compare it with the table above. RIPEstat answers for any address, and the RADB whois mirror lists the routes registered under an ASN.
curl -s "https://stat.ripe.net/data/prefix-overview/data.json?resource=203.0.113.9" | jq '.data.asns'whois -h whois.radb.net -- '-i origin AS26611' | grep ^routeQuestions
What is Claro Colombia's ASN?
The registry records AS26611, registered to Comunicación Celular S.A. Comcel S.A., as Claro's mobile ASN. Three further ASNs held by Telmex Colombia, AS10620, AS14080 and AS27864, are recorded with a fixed role. All four were announced at the last probe.
What is the MCC/MNC of Claro Colombia?
732-101. MCC 732 is the country code for Colombia, and MNC 101 is the network code recorded for Claro. The registry lists no other MCC/MNC pair for this operator, so any additional codes in circulation are not confirmed here.
Is an IP from AS26611 a mobile IP?
AS26611 is the ASN the registry marks as Claro's mobile network, so an address originating there is routed by that network. It does not prove the individual connection is a handset on the radio access side, because the registry documents the role of the ASN rather than per-address access technology.
