Autonomous systems
Holder names and prefix counts come from the RIPE NCC's RIPEstat Data API, fetched on 2026-09-06. Role and confidence come from the evidence linked in each row; "confirmed" means a PeeringDB or RIPEstat record, or the operator's own site, names the operator.
| ASN | Holder (RIPEstat) | Role | Announced | IPv4 / IPv6 prefixes | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|

Mobile network codes
The MCC identifies the country and the MNC identifies the operator inside it. Together they appear in the IMSI of every SIM on the network and in device diagnostics; they are how a handset knows which network it is on.
About Tigo
The registry holds two ASNs for Tigo Colombia. AS27831, registered to Colombia Móvil, is the one with a documented mobile role, but it was not announcing at the last probe, so no IPv4 or IPv6 prefixes route under it. AS13489, held by UNE EPM Telecomunicaciones, was announced with 90 IPv4 prefixes against 49 IPv6 prefixes at the last probe. PeeringDB records AS27831 under the name Colombia Móvil with no network type set, and AS13489 under the name TigoUne with the network type Cable/DSL/ISP.
An address whose origin ASN is AS13489 is routed by the UNE EPM fixed-line side of the operator, and the Cable/DSL/ISP type in PeeringDB points the same way, so it is not evidence of a mobile connection. AS27831 is the number the registry marks as mobile, but it announces nothing, so no live address traces back to it. That leaves Tigo mobile traffic with no announced ASN in this registry to match an address against, and origin ASN on its own will not identify it.
Research note. Legal name Colombia Móvil S.A. E.S.P.; parent Millicom (Wikipedia). AS27831 (Colombia Movil, LACNIC owner id CO-COMO) is the mobile legal entity's ASN but RIPEstat reports it as NOT announced. AS13489 is registered on PeeringDB as 'TigoUne' aka 'Tigo Colombia', website tigo.com.co, info_type Cable/DSL/ISP (UNE EPM fixed-line side, merged with Tigo); further UNE EPM ASNs in asn.txt (7997 unannounced, 8065, 18869, 27695, 27798, 27805) were not individually verified. 732-165 is Colombia Móvil S.A. ESP with status Unknown on Wikipedia and 'Live' on mcc-mnc.org; kept because it belongs to the same operator. tigo.com.co returned HTTP 403 to fetches. 4G LTE launched 2013-12-03 (Wikipedia); 5G activated 2024-02-23 (Forbes).
Checking whether an IP belongs to Tigo
Look up the origin ASN of the address and compare it with the table above. RIPEstat answers for any address, and the RADB whois mirror lists the routes registered under an ASN.
curl -s "https://stat.ripe.net/data/prefix-overview/data.json?resource=203.0.113.9" | jq '.data.asns'whois -h whois.radb.net -- '-i origin AS27831' | grep ^routeQuestions
What is Tigo Colombia's ASN?
The registry records AS27831, registered to Colombia Móvil, as the mobile ASN, though RIPEstat reported it as not announced at the last probe. AS13489, held by UNE EPM Telecomunicaciones and registered on PeeringDB as TigoUne, is announced and recorded with a fixed role.
What is the MCC/MNC of Tigo Colombia?
The registry records three pairs, 732-103, 732-111 and 732-165, all under MCC 732, the country code for Colombia. They belong to the same operator, Colombia Móvil, which is why all three are listed on one entry. No further network codes are confirmed here for Tigo Colombia.
Is an IP from AS13489 a mobile IP?
Probably not. AS13489 is recorded with a fixed role and PeeringDB types it as Cable/DSL/ISP, so an address originating there points at the operator's fixed-line network. The registry's mobile ASN for Tigo, AS27831, announced no prefixes at the last probe.
